AN artist is searching for an old photograph of a Halesowen school so she can recreate the original Victorian building on canvas.

Janie Evans has launched a project to paint a series of school buildings, but has been unable to track down an early snap of Hasbury Primary School, which dates from 1897.

She’s lined up material to work on a painting of Earls High School, where some of her children go, but is especially keen to paint Hasbury as well because she also has children at that school.

Mrs Evans, of Fairfield Road, said: “I’ve tried Dudley archives, Halesowen Roots, the school and the library, but there’s nothing of it as it was originally.

“It’s hard to see where the old building was before the extensions. It’s quite a complicated little building, and although I could guess, it might not be true and that’s the point, it has to be accurate.”

The mother of seven children and step children said it was “frustrating” not to be able to find a single photo of the school and appealed for anyone who could help to contact her on 07525190975.
