KIND-hearted employment agency staff have raised £400 to help terminally ill children after being touched by the plight of a Rowley Regis toddler.

Pertemps’ industrial branch in Dudley raised the money for Little Hearts Matter and Acorns Children’s Hospice from their weekly dress down days.

The gesture was the second to be made by the firm to the family of four-year-old Mason Williams, who was born with a rare genetic condition, hypoplastic left heart syndrome, commonly known as having half a heart.

When Pertemps regional manager Liam Peck heard about Mason he offered the company’s support.

Their first donation was a large cuddly snow tiger as parents Melodie and Paul set about creating a winter wonderland in the garden of their Mountford Close home for Mason to enjoy last Christmas.

Mrs Williams, who is an ambassador for Acorns, has been collecting sponsorship in support of her entry into a beauty pageant for curvier women in London on July 27, using the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for the two charities.

She said: “I have been collecting sponsorship from local people and a couple of local businesses have also supported me.

“I took the liberty of emailing Liam to see if he could help in any way and luckily he said yes. I have been very grateful of the support from Pertemps.”
