MEMORIES were rekindled for 140 past pupils of a Halesowen school who joined in with its 75th anniversary celebrations.

They returned to Windsor High School fort a look round and to meet former friends and teachers last Saturday.

Among them was Ken Allen, from the first intake in 1939, who enjoyed the chance to view displays of old photographs and memorabilia stretching back to his wartime schooldays.

Former student Jim McHardy and his wife Sandra did a large amount of research and put together photograph albums for the Alumini morning which attracted ex pupils and staff from all decades.

Headteacher Keith Sorrell said: “The morning was a great success with an array of photographs and memorabilia on display stretching back to 1939.

“These proved fascinating to all and there were many reminiscences and former friendships were renewed, some going back over 60 years.”

The celebration theme will continue on Saturday when the school’s Summer Fun Day will have a theme of Windsor at War and will have a range of activities recreating school times during 1939-45.
