COMMEMORATIONS in Cradley marking the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War will be launched next Thursday (July 10) with a wartime history talk.

Local historian Margaret Bradley ‘s talk on how the war affected the town will include moving extracts of letters from serving soldiers, while Harry Bloomer and Jill Guest will present film clips.

Mrs Bradley said: “'Information will be available that may be helpful to those seeking to know more about Cradley ancestors who served in the Great War.

The free event will be held at the Overend Methodist Mission, Banners Lane, at 7.30pm. All are welcome.
