BRIERLEY Hill residents will be waging war on litter louts later this month.

The Corbyns Bromley Tenants and Residents Association is organising a group of litter pickers to meet at Sally’s Shop at Tiled House Lane on Saturday July 26.

The cleaning spree will start at 11am and run for three hours.

The association is urging anyone with some spare time to arm themselves with bin bags and join in.

Councillor Gaye Partridge, cabinet member for housing and community safety, said: “I fully support such initiatives as community clean ups as they really make Dudley a better place to live and work. Everyone benefits from an improved environment and it fosters community pride and improves safety.

“It is great that volunteers give up their time to participate in such events and the Corby and Bromley TRA really work hard for their community.

"I urge anyone living on the estate to get involved both with this litter pick and the tenants and residents association.”

Bags, high visibility jackets, litter pickers and gloves will be provided for use.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.
