THE sixth annual OH Festival is set to bring a day of fun and music to Old Hill on Saturday.

Some of the proceeds will also go to the Variety Club’s Children’s charity which will by buying wheelchairs for local disabled youngsters.

Founding festival organisers Dave Saunders, Dave Quinton, Lisa Saunders and Paul Evans started the community family fun day, which has raised more than £30,000, in 2009.

Mrs Saunders is hoping this year’s festival will build on the “huge success” of past events which have attracted thousands of people.

Performing on stage will be She Will Rock You, The Commandments, The Bravo Boys, Thunderdaze and AKA Skaface.

Past donations have gone to the Soldiers, Sailors and Air Force Association, paid for rehabilitation equipment for injured soldiers recovering in the QE Hospital, gone to its sight unit and Norton house, where their families can stay on site.

During 2012, the festival raised £7,000 to support Rowley Regis soldier Luke Hemming through his rehabilitation after he lost both his legs in Afghanistan.

The festival has also paid for 46 local adults and children in need to go on holiday to Bogna Regis and funded vital repairs to the Spring Meadow Social Club roof.
