A CANCER charity is appealing for Halesowen and Sandwell people to help with a collection in Cradley Heath.
CLIC Sargent, for children and young people, is looking for volunteers for the national Big Bucket Collection in September as part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
It aims to raise £150,000 from across the UK and is hoping to fill plenty of buckets at Cradley Heath’s Tesco’s store on Saturday September 13.
Volunteer Sue Hill said they would be grateful to hear from anyone who could give a few hours of their time.
She added: “We are particularly looking for Chief Bucketeers to act as co-ordinators for local collections, so anyone who is interested should get in touch with CLIC Sargent.”
Collecting for a day could raise £230, enough to pay for a family to stay in a CLIC Sargent Home from Home for a week, close to where their child is receiving cancer treatment.
Anyone who would like to help should contact the CLIC Sargent team on 0845 121 2495 or visit www.clicsargent.org.uk/bigbucketcollection
