New loyalty card being mooted for Halesowen

First published in News by

A LOYALTY card to encourage people to shop in Halesowen is being trialled by the town's chamber of trade chairman.

Discounted prices build up as credit on the Buy Local Keep it Local card, which can then be used to offset the price of goods and services bought at participating businesses.

Chamber chairman Wayne Edwards, who run Less4Ink, said the scheme was one of a series of planned developments aimed at driving the town forward.

He added: “It’s about encouraging local people to spend in their local town and get benefits for their loyalty in terms of discounts. It can also be used to refund parking charges.”

"The big supermarkets and chains have loyalty cards and this is aimed smaller retailers and businesses like accountancy firms to help local traders of all kinds."

If the trial is successful, it is hoped to roll out the scheme across the town and neighbouring areas.

A loyalty card will be a waste of time and money, we want cheaper parking and better shops not a paper gimmick.

The buy local keep it local loyalty card is FREE and just one of the initiatives that the Chamber of Trade are encouraging to increase customers to shop local and use the high street whilst at the same time be rewarded for there loyalty.
The chamber of Trade are in consultation with Dudley Council over car parking charges and we are endeavouring to obtain more free parking bays, however this isn’t suddenly going to increase footfall in the high street or encourage better shops. We are working on a number of initiatives including a web site for the town and working with organisations such as Halesowen & Rowley Regis Rotary to create more events in the town like the Victorian Fair, Black Country Run, Carnival etc ect …Thank you for your comments and interest Wayne Edwards
