ORGANISERS of Rowley Regis’s Brickhouse Festival are keeping their fingers crossed for good weather when the rearranged event goes ahead on Sunday (September 28).

The festival at Moor Lane Open Space, opposite Powke Lane Cemetery, had to be called off in July due to torrential rain and threats of lightning strikes.

The event, from noon until 6pm, will feature stalls, a car boot sale, family entertainment including zorb football, a fun fair and a pig roast.

Young singers from Sandwell Council's Youth Services' Coneygre Centre will provide musical entertainment and there will be a talent competition for all ages from 4pm to 5pm, with no pre-booking necessary.

Councillor Barbara Price, Rowley Regis town lead member, said: "It was a shame it had to be postponed in the summer due to the weather.

“The whole planning team has worked hard to get the event back on at the earliest possible date and we hope everyone has a great time."
