A HALESOWEN funeral directors is holding an open day and combining it with a "Knit and Natter" charity fundraiser.

Staff from Halesowen and District, Hagley Road, will be extolling the benefits of its Dignity Funeral Plan on Monday, October 6, between 10am and 2pm.

Funeral director Gary Minott said: “More and more people are pre-arranging their funerals these days.

"People often purchase a funeral plan to make sure their loved ones don’t have to make difficult decisions about their funeral arrangements.

"Other people purchase a Guaranteed Funeral Plan from us so that they know that their funeral is paid for at today’s prices, regardless of how far in the future the service takes place."

He added: "We will also be hosting the Knit and Natter on the day in aid of Preemies UK, a charity that collects and donates knitted clothing and blankets to hospitals for premature babies.”

Preemies UK aims to provide small, knitted clothing and blankets for neonatal intensive care units across Britain, as premature babies can struggle to maintain their body temperature. The clothing is designed to fit the small babies well and allow easy access for medical equipment to treat the babies.
