CHILD care staff at Halesowen College braved the Ice Bucket Challenge at their open day to raise funds for a colleague who has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.

Twelve staff members dressed up for the challenge for colleague Lynn Taylor and raised £416 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

She retired from the child care department this year after 15 years service following a period of ill health before being diagnosed with the disease.

Thousands of prospective students and parents visited Halesowen College during the open evening and day when they also had the chance to meet silver medalist Paralympian Mel Clarke, take part in archery sessions and see the Olympic torch.
