A Halesowen musician is hoping to take the airwaves by storm when he appears on a regional radio show.

Kevin Ashcroft, of Willonsbrook Road, has been invited to play a set with his band on Radio WM's Jimmy Franks show on Tuesday February 6.

The keen guitarist earned the gig after sending a demo tape of his group, the Kevin Ashcroft Band, to the station.

Playing a mixture of electric and acoustic blues, the three-piece will use the set to preview tracks from their upcoming album You Gave Me The Blues.

Kevin said: "We were given the option to play live and took it without hesitiation.

"I hope to fit around four or five tracks into the set and it should be very interesting. It's a great opportunity for us."
