CHRISTMAS has come early for a group of Rowley Regis residents who were given winter warmth packs by local councillors.
Rowley councillor Barbara Price and her husband Blackheath councillor Bob Price were joined by Blackheath councillor Kerrie Carmichael, neighbourhood officers and the police as she handed out the packs to Enfield Road residents.
The winter warmth packs include thermal blankets, hats, gloves, mugs, thermal scarfs and socks, health and fuel advice, dried soup and thermometers.
Cllr Barbara Price, Rowley Regis town lead member, explained the importance of the winter warmth packs.
said: "Sandwell Council is delivering 3,000 winter warmth packs to residents across the borough’s six towns as part of a £60,000 Public Health Commissioning Board-funded scheme."
She added: "It is targeting those most in need of the packs and has been delivering them since Christmas, already more than 2,000 have been distributed in the borough."
