A 26-YEAR-OLD Halesowen woman tragically died after taking a cocktail of drink and drugs, an inquest has heard.

Jodie Maria Elizabeth Wilkes, of Spiral Close, died on Saturday, December 6, after collapsing at the Outlaws Motorcycle Club, Birmingham Street.

A statement from Dean Whittle, a key holder at the club, was read out at Smethwick Coroners Court on Friday, stating that Miss Wilkes had arrived at the club at midnight.

He said it had been brought to his attention that a man who he had never seen before had been dealing drugs.

Mr Whittle said the man had denied the allegations but was asked to leave anyway.

The inquest was told that several hours later Miss Wilkes was lying on the settee and had been drinking Malibu and coke.

Later that afternoon Mr Whittle recalled hearing a thud and saw Miss Wilkes had fell off the settee.

He presumed she was drunk and had rolled off but when his partner went over to put her back on the settee, she told him Miss Wilkes "didn't look right" as her eyes were half open.

An ambulance was called and despite best efforts to resuscitate her, Miss Wilkes was pronounced dead at Russells Hall Hospital.

Black Country Coroner Zafar Siddique said there were traces of alcohol, amphetamine and cocaine in Miss Wilkes system.

He said the concentrations were not high enough on their own to suggest an overdose so her death would have been a result of the combined affects.

He said: "Jodie went out socialising and went to the establishment where she was found collapsed the following day.

"She died a drug and alcohol related death."

He added: "This is a tragedy. Time after time I see the destruction drugs cause to the lives of young people."
