SHADOW health secretary Andy Burnham visited Rowley Regis Hospital this week to launch the party's General Election campaign in the constituency.

The shadow minister joined Halesowen and Rowley Regis Labour candidate Stephanie Peacock, and over 40 Party supporters on Monday.

Mr Burnham said: "Labour is fully committed to supporting Rowley Regis hospital and I know local candidate Stephanie Peacock is campaigning for improved services.

"The NHS as we know it can’t survive another five years of the Tories failing plan and this election is about which direction the UK will take - and the future of our NHS."

He added: "Only Labour is promising to build an NHS which unites physical, social and mental health into one service.

Stephanie Peacock added: "The NHS is in crisis - under resourced and overstretched.

"My mum has worked in the NHS for over thirty years and I know from talking to local people they are concerned about wait times and the future of the NHS."

She added: "I am concerned our Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Hospitals Trust is rated ‘inadequate’ and the trust has to increase nursing staff levels to meet our needs for NHS care.

"The NHS is Labour’s greatest achievement so you can trust us to save it."
