BROMSGROVE: After being voted Best Duo in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2013, and also nominated for Best Original Song (The Ballad of Andy Jacobs), Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman have hardly looked back.

This husband and wife team had been absent from the music scene for almost a decade before their highly-acclaimed Hidden People CD was released in 2012.

The duo will be performing at Bromsgrove's Artrix on Monday April 20 when they will be playing tracks from their new album Tomorrow Will Follow Today.

ALCESTER: Alcester Male Voice Choir will host its latest concert at St Nicholas Church on Saturday April 25.

The 80-strong choir will be performing a varied programme for their 41st annual concert including musical numbers from West Side Story, The Pirates of Penzance, The Pearl Fishers, Singing in the Rain.

REDDITCH: The music of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons will be coming to Redditch.

Big Girls Don’t Cry, featuring The Eastcoast Boys, will be coming to the Palace Theatre.

During the 60s and 70s number one hits Sherry, December 1963, Walk Like a Man, Rag Doll and Big Girls Don’t Cry saw the Four Seasons and lead singer Frankie Valli propelled to super stardom.

The show is on Saturday, April 18 from 7.30pm.

STOURBRIDGE: A band more known for playing to thousands will perform in front of a much smaller audience in Stourbridge this month.

Clinic, a post-punk revival/noise rock group from Liverpool, have been the main support for Radiohead on both ‘Kid A’ and ‘In Rainbows’ tours recently.

After playing in front of 5,000 people in Japan a few weeks ago, the band will step out on stage at Scary Canary The Venue, in High Street, on April 24.

Tickets for the gig, which starts at 7pm, cost £12 and are available from the Scary Canary box office, located in the shop on the corner of High Street and Market Street, or online at www.scarycanaryvenue.com.

CRADLEY HEATH: Bostin’ banter is promised at Billy Spakemon’s gig at Cradley Heath’s Hollybush pub.

He will present Three Blokes, Three Chairs an’ a Chap Named John – a collection of stories, spoken word and music.

The performance at the Newtown Lane pub on Friday April 17 will start at 8pm and admission is free.
