A KNIFE-WIELDING Halesowen thug who attacked his former partner at the end of their “tempestuous and turbulent” relationship has been locked up for 16 months.

Scott Deeley left Jade Goodwins with cuts to her hand and arm and she had bruising all over her body, said Mr Delroy Henry prosecuting.

He said 24 year old Deeley and Miss Goodwin had been together “on and off” for about a year but their relationship then began to deteriorate.

Deeley then sent her a number of unsavoury text messages but they agreed to meet to try and sort things out, Mr Henry told Wolverhampton Crown Court.

They went drinking but Deeley decided to return to his Narrow Lane home with Miss Goodwin following later because “she wanted her stuff.”

Mr Henry said there was “something of a scuffle” before Deeley pushed her to the floor and the next thing she remembered was waking up in the kitchen being treated by paramedics.

Deeley admitted assaulting his former partner causing her actual bodily harm and Recorder Leo Pyle told him: “It was you who brought the knife to the front doorstep. What you did was sustained and repeated.”

Mr Andrew Molloy defending said: ”He accepts what he did was unlawful. It was not intentional but he does accept it was reckless.”

He said far too much alcohol had been consumed by both parties as he stressed, “This relationship is now well and truly over.”

The court was told the bloodstained knife was later recovered by investigating police officers with Mr Henry adding: “This was the culmination of what was a very turbulent relationship.”
