THE Prime Minister David Cameron has appointed Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP James Morris as Private Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Europe.

Mr Morris will be working on the forthcoming European Union Referendum Bill which will see voters decide whether to stay in our out of the EU.

A series of re-negotiation talks will be held between the Government and Brussels before British people make the decision in 2017.

The MP said: “I am pleased to have been appointed by the Prime Minister as the Private Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Europe.

"I battled hard in the last Parliament for an in/out referendum on membership of the European Union and in my new role will have an opportunity to help deliver on this key manifesto pledge."

He added: "The EU Referendum Bill will be the first bill introduced to Parliament in this session reinforcing the government’s commitment to having a referendum before the end of 2017.”

In 2011 James Morris was one of the 81 Tory rebels who voted against the Coalition Government to have a referendum on Britain’s relationship with the EU.
