GENERALLY, Monday’s get a bad press – what with being the start of the working week for most of us – but the good news is it’s almost over!

Summer holidays mean motorists do not have to negotiate as much traffic as usual but, to help you get home without any unexpected delays, visit our traffic page.

A quick look around North Worcestershire and the Black Country has thrown up a few areas you might wish to avoid.

If you are travelling on the M6 motorway in the northbound direction, a lane is blocked and traffic is moving slowly between J8, at the M5 and J9 in Wednesbury because of a broken down car.

Other areas of note: *A449 Chester Road South in Kidderminster is closed between the A442 Worcester Road and Spennels Valley Road junctions because of resurfacing works. Severe delays expected there.

*A458 Park Road in Lye. Road works are also taking place here and temporary traffic lights are in operation between Hingley Road and the B4173 Colley Lane junctions.

*A449 in Droitwich. One lane is closed on the A449 in both directions in Hawford between the Egg Lane and A4133 junctions, again because of road works.

*A458 Lye Bypass is closed in both directions between the A4036 Pedmore Road and Cemetery Road junctions due to road works. Delays expected to be severe.
