A CHRISTIAN charity which gives away furniture to the needy is desperately seeking new premises.
Due to the success of Loaves 'n' Fishes the charity has run out of room in its depot in Vicarage Road, Blackheath to store furniture.
The founder of Loaves 'n' Fishes is hoping a landlord will allow the charity to store furniture for free in return for a reduction on business rates.
Anna Hartland said: "As soon as the furniture comes in it is going out to needy families but we have run out of room and I hate saying no to donations because of a lack of room.
"We are hoping a landlord lets us rent an unused premises for free but as we are a charity they will save thousands in rates."
The charity was founded ten years ago and is now provides a vital service in Halesowen and Sandwell giving away furniture, household goods and clothes to the needy.
Mrs Hartland said: "Times are hard for so many people, last year we helped 1,385 people and as we are the only charity which gives furniture away for free we keep on attracting more people."
Last year due to benefits being cut or being suspended the charity saw a 400 per cent rise in demand for its services.
