FREE wifi will soon be in more Dudley Council buildings than ever before following a huge roll out scheme.

Currently, people visiting libraries can get free wifi on their mobile, tablets, laptops and other devices, but the council is extending the range of buildings where people can access wifi with the launch of DudleyConnect.

Buildings which will be added to the list include The Council House, Dudley Council Plus, Himley Hall, Priory Hall, Dudley and Stourbridge Town Halls, Cornbow Hall, in Halesowen, The Dell Stadium, in Brierley Hill, Mary Stevens Park Cafe, as well as borough leisure centres.

Councillor David Sparks, Dudley cabinet member responsible for ICT services, said: “As a community council we are always looking for new ways to improve the way people interact with the council. People visiting our venues should expect the very best service and facilities and wifi is just part of this.

“It will have a huge impact for the events that many of them host such as weddings at Priory Hall and Himley Hall and the wide range of shows at the town halls. I hope people make use of these valuable facilities.”

People will be asked to sign up to the wifi either through their social media accounts or via email to create an account.
