A YOUNG woman was assaulted by her former Rowley Regis boyfriend, who had already being barred by a court from having any contact with her.
Joshua Stevens, aged 20, also damaged a mobile phone belonging to his ex-partner and damaged her mother’s car, Wolverhampton Crown Court was told.
Stevens, of Cromwell Close, admitted common assault, breaching a non-molestation order and two charges of criminal damage.
He further admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance and was sentenced to a year in a young offenders’ institution.
Recorder Christopher Millington QC said it was expected Stevens, who also admitted obstructing a police officer, would be released in about two months because of the time he had spent in custody on remand.
