Two Rowley Regis primary schools joined forces by swapping four pupils for one lesson.
The pupils from year six visited Highfields Primary School in Beeches Road as part of a national school focus on problem solving.
The children joined in with the pupils at Highfields in a lesson about practical problem solving and costing.
A few weeks later four children from Highfields then visited Springfields in Dudley Road to take part in their lesson about patterns and shapes.
Springfield School year six teacher Mrs Sargent said: "They all enjoyed changing schools, it was something different and they had a lot of fun."
