GAME Of Thrones has set a new record, winning 12 prizes at the 67th Emmy Awards.

The show won eight awards at last week’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards, and then went on to scoop a further four at the star-studded ceremony held this morning at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.

Actor Peter Dinklage won outstanding supporting actor in a drama series and the show also picked up the prestigious outstanding drama series award.

Tensions flared between contestants as The X Factor’s super-sized boot camp got under way at a country house location in Hertfordshire.

For the last three years, this stage of the ITV singing competition has put auditionees through the dreaded Six Chair Challenge held at Wembley in order to cut down the numbers.

However, boot camp has previously been notorious for hopefuls getting up to all kinds of antics in the country, including partying and fighting.

Take That had 2,000 jubilant fans waving their hands in their air in synchronisation to their 1995 hit Never Forget as the curtain came down on the second night of the Apple Music Festival.

Some followers of the three-piece boy band camped outside The Roundhouse in Camden from 3.45am on Sunday to get their hands on the last few tickets available on the door.

Four songs into the 15-tune set, which featured both old and new hits, Howard Donald said: “This gig is like a thank you for all the supporters of Take That.”

Downton Abbey’s leading lady has said it is right to call time on the award-winning period drama.

Michelle Dockery, who plays Lady Mary Crawley, said there were “many tears shed” as the cast filmed Downton’s last ever scenes, with the first episode of the final series airing last night (Sunday).

Fans have been torn over whether the drama could continue, while creator Julian Fellowes hinted last month that the show could have an afterlife on the big screen.

Great British Bake Off co-host Sue Perkins said it felt like “bereavement” when she was told cancer meant she could not have children.

The writer and comedian was told she was infertile in 2007 when doctors discovered a benign brain tumour.

Sue, who is now in a relationship with documentary-maker Anna Richardson, kept news of her diagnosis a secret for eight years, breaking her silence this summer.
