A REDUNDANT pet hospital in Quinton has re-opened as a stock donation centre for the PDSA.

The charity closed the Hagley Road West hospital when it moved to a new £1.8 million facility in Oldbury in July.

It is hoped the centre will help raise £3,500 a week through stock donated and sold in shops across the region.

Suzanne Perkins, who helped oversee the move, said: “Our retail team took over the former pet hospital site a few weeks ago and have been busy converting it into a specialist centre where we can take donations both large and small from members of the public, to distribute to our charity shops across the region.”

The donation centre is manned by volunteers and members of staff and has the capacity to receive a wide range of items, including clothes, shoes, handbags and home ware.

Items can be dropped off Mondays to Fridays from 7:30am until 6pm, Saturday from 9am until 5pm and Sundays from 10am until 4pm.
