A DUDLEY councillor says anti-social behaviour by yobs in Netherton is a huge problem which is driving people out of their homes.

Police were called to Chester Road last Wednesday evening after a woman called 999 to report teenagers carrying crow bars and pickaxes.

She said a "big massive gang" of youngsters, who she guessed were aged between 13 and 15, were walking along carrying the weapons and "looking for trouble".

A SCHOOL in Kidderminster was evacuated after emergency services were called to an incident involving chemicals.

Crews from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to the incident at Holy Trinity School, in Birmingham Road, at 11.40am this morning (Tuesday, November 14).

A spokesman from HWFRS confirmed the incident was caused by a mixture of chemicals meeting in a common drain.

BUDDING Old Hill singer James Wythes is urging local fans to get behind him to achieve his dream of performing backed by a 60-piece orchestra at top comedian Jason Manford's Christmas show.

James, aged 21, of Station Road, has entered a competition to sing at the Jason Manford Christmas show, accompanied by the Piccadilly Symphony Orchestra, at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall on December 8.

BROMSGROVE MP Sajid Javid will have a "serious and frank discussion" with Secretary of State for Health Jeremy Hunt over maternity fears.

Mr Javid, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, is set to meet Mr Hunt today Wednesday, November 18 following the shock maternity ward closure at Redditch's Alexandra Hospital - the main hospital serving Bromsgrove.
