THE secrets of dressing a Christmas tree will be shared in Cradley Hearth next week.

Arts collective Cradley Heath Creative is holding a tree dressing workshop at Mary MacArthur Gardens on Saturday, December 12 11am to 3pm.

The workshop will be held in the group's Oss Box and there will be plenty of materials including' card, paper, fabric, glue and string to get people’s imaginative ideas going.

Group secretary Lizzy Lee said: "This is very exciting for us, the workshop is a collaboration between us and the Friends of Mary MacArthur Gardens, with input from Jangchub Ling Buddhist Centre which sits directly opposite the gardens, and Asda, Netherton.

"Tree dressing is a popular tradition around the country, where people bring objects or make something to hang in the tree."

The group's Oss Box is becoming a regular sight in the town and is becoming well known for hosting pop-up arts events.

Cradley Heath Creative bought Oss Box, a 70’s horse trailer, and in July the group used it in the Women Chainmakers Festival with shared food stories

And at the recent the Christmas lights events they produced a shadow puppet play, with the help of a grant for lighting from Asda, Netherton.

Miss Lee added: "We have recently been awarded Local Area Budget funding by Sandwell Council to enable one side of Oss Box to be lowered to make a stage for outdoor performances and festivals."
