A STOURBRIDGE video production company is one of just five British businesses chosen for a high-profile trade trip to Vietnam.

Base Studios’ boss Warren Evans is gearing up to make the week-long trip to south east Asia to promote his film-making firm in one of the fastest growing markets in the world.

He is traveling as part of a delegation from Pact, a trade association for independent multi-media producers to the Asia TV Forum and Market (ATF) where TV stations will be looking to buy programmes for channels which broadcast to billions of people.

Base Studios is among five organisations being funded to attend ATF by the UK Trade and Investment, a government organisation which helps companies promote their work in export markets.

Mr Evans, from the Rufford Road studios, said: “It is fantastic to have the support of UKTI which will help us showcase our latest project, a show giving a very different perspective on the music industry, in a part of the world hungry for this kind of programme.

“Over the last couple of years our video and TV production businesses grown very quickly, both making commercial videos for industry and TV shows featuring a host of famous names.

“We recently worked with a global production company based in Amsterdam supplying video interviews for a programme for broadcast in America, Europe and Asia and have twice attended huge TV conventions in Cannes where we have been able to develop productive connections with many international investors.

“This is another opportunity to show Britain is among the best in the world in TV and film-making and there is plenty of talent outside London, I am looking forward to flying the Black Country flag in Vietnam.”

Stourbridge MP Margot James recently called at Base Studios to hear more about the studio’s latest projects, including the trip to ATF.

She said: “I was delighted that founder and owner of Base Studios, Warren Evans, has been selected to join a UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) mission to Vietnam to promote UK business and exports.

"Base is a vital part of the community in Stourbridge and I am therefore delighted that it has been selected to demonstrate the very best of British enterprise abroad."
