A PROFESSIONAL Rowley Regis dancer is hoping to follow her sister’s footsteps to be crowned Miss Birmingham.

Abigail Cutler is one of 42 finalists looking to impress the judges at the city’s Burlington Hotel on Sunday (March 20).

The 23-year-old won her place in the coveted final after a telephone interview whilst working on assignment in India.

The former Miss Teen Birmingham is hoping to match her older sister Natalie’s success.

She was crowned Miss Black Country and then Miss Birmingham in 2011, before finishing in the top five of the Miss England pageant.

Abigail said: “I am hoping to do as well as my sister did, but they are big shoes to fill.”

Alongside physical attractiveness, the judges are looking for an ambassador for the city and someone involved in community and charity work.

Abigail, of Harvest Road, is planning to run in the London Marathon and hopes to raise at least £1,000 for Children with Cancer UK.

She has worked with other finalists scrubbing chewing gum from the steps in Victoria Square, Birmingham, as part of the Clean for the Queen campaign.

Abigail also spoke to special needs children at The Westminster School, Rowley Regis, about her experiences.

The dancer has to design an ECO dress for the competition and is hoping to reach for the stars in a little number made from a recycled army parachute.

“I’m really excited about being in the final. I have always being interested I pageants and they provides a big platform from which to raise money for charity and help the community,” she added.
