THE Labour Party has suspended Oldbury councillor and former Sandwell Council deputy leader Mahboob Hussain - again.

A dossier, compiled by Sandwell Labour party members, was sent to Labour's general secretary Iain McNicol last week.

And yesterday (Monday) national party representatives interviewed several members of the Sandwell Labour party at Terry Duffy House in West Bromwich.

A Labour spokesman told the News today: "Councillor Mahboob Hussain has been suspended from the Labour Party.”

The dossier sent to Mr McNicol included allegations about Mr Hussain’s conduct over a number of years.

Cllr Hussain had a previous suspension from the party overturned last month after police found he had no case to answer in relation to the allegations.

The allegations against Cllr Hussain were included in a report by solicitors Wragge, Lawrence, Graham and Co which was commissioned by Sandwell Council in October 2014 and was due to be published last week.

However, on Friday, Sandwell Council confirmed a legal injunction was filed on behalf of one of the people mentioned in the report, which has led to another delay of the publication.

The Sandwell Labour group is due to elect its leader on Friday, the candidates include acting leader Cllr Steve Eling, Cllr Ian Jones, who was previously suspended and Cllr Yvonne Davies.

Both Cllr Hussain and Cllr Jones have denied any wrongdoing and were unavailable for comment today.
