IT'S finally Friday and the weekend is nearly upon us. So let's help you reach your destination with ease this morning.

So far the roads across the Black Country and North Worcestershire are moving resonably well with a few problem areas caused by flooding and roadworks to watch out for:

  • Lye: There are cancellations on Chiltern Railway between Birmingham Snow Hill and Kidderminster due to flooding at Lye and delays of up to ten minutes on London Midland services.

Chiltern Railway tickets are being accepted on London Midland services.  

Heavy rain caused flooding at Lye which has damaged signalling in the area.

Services may be cancelled, and some services from Kidderminster are terminating at Birmingham Moor Street.

  • M6: Heavy traffic on M6 Southbound between J10 A454 (Walsall / Wolverhampton) and J9 A461 (Wednesbury).
  • Dudley Town Centre: Stone Street both ways closed due to burst water main between High Street and Tower Street. South Staffordshire Water carrying out repairs to large main which has burst.
  • Dudley: Flood Street both ways closed due to emergency repairs between New Mill Street and King Street. Work underway to repair a collapsed culvert.  Diversion via New Mill Street and King Street.
  • Bromgrove: Birmingham Road closed both ways due to roadworks between Burcot Lane/All Saints Road and A38 Birmingham Road.
  • Brierley Hill: One lane closed due to roadworks on A4036 Merry Hill between A4100 Mount Pleasant and The Boulevard.
  • Great Barr: All laHeavy traffic on M6 Southbound between J10 A454 (Walsall/Wolverhampton) and J9 A461 (Wednesbury).
  • Birmingham: A457 Parade both ways closed due to major roadworks between Sand Pits and A38. Expect delays.

There is no access to Paradise Circus from Sandpits. Traffic should use ring road instead.

The road is closed as part of major redevelopment work at Paradise Circus. Diversion: National Express West Midlands bus services 82, 83, 87, 89, 10H and 126 will be diverted.
