GRANTS ranging from £50,000 up to £1 million are up for grabs to Sandwell companies looking to expand their businesses and create jobs in the borough.
The £6.5 million Growing Priority Sectors Local Growth Fund (LGF) targets Black Country businesses seeking funding for their capital expenditure plans.
It is managed by Sandwell Council's Think Local team on behalf of the Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership and is in addition to Green Shoots Plus+ which offers grants from £10,000 to £15,000.
A council spokesman said companies looking to invest in technology, relocate to larger premises or diversify and reach new market could take advantage of the grants.
Depending on the size of the business, the LGF could cover between 10 and 30 per cent of the funding needed.
Councillor Paul Moore, Sandwell's cabinet member for regeneration and economic investment, said: “Grants like this are good news for Sandwell. They boost the local economy and encourage companies to become sustainable businesses with a long-term future in the borough.
“The LGF grants will help Sandwell and Black Country businesses to achieve their commercial objectives and create opportunities to unlock talent in the area.
“I urge local companies to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity and apply today.”
