More than 15,000 people have signed a petition calling for Dudley North MP Ian Austin to be disciplined after he told Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn to “shut up” during a Commons debate on the Chilcot report.

Labour MP Mr Austin told his boss to “sit down and shut up” before branding him "a disgrace” during a speech in which Mr Corbyn criticised the military action in Iraq that toppled Saddam Hussain.

People took to the MP's Twitter feed to air their disgust at the comments and more than 15,700 people have since signed an online petition urging the Labour Party to discipline Mr Austin for his "shameful behaviour".

Environmental group Transition Stourbridge is celebrating the return of wildlife to the River Stour.

The eco group has staged regular working parties to help clear rubbish from The Stour near the Lion Health centre - and dedicated volunteers believe their efforts are paying off.

Having completely cleared the area of discarded shopping trolleys and used tyres - group members recently noticed fish swimming in the now fast-flowing waterway, dubbed the 'forgotten river', and they also spotted a kingfisher.

Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP James Morris has spoken of his disappointment that his pick for Conservative leader has pulled out of the race to be Prime Minister.

Andrea Leadsom announced she did not want to continue in her quest to be leader of the Conservative Party after becoming embroiled in a row about her comments about opponent Theresa May not having children.

Mr Morris said: "I am disappointed that Andrea Leadsom has stepped aside as a contender for the Conservative Leadership, however I can understand and agree with the reasons why."

Theresa May has since been confirmed as the new leader of the Conservative Party and she is due to become Britain’s next Prime Minister in two days time.

Police are linking two similar incidents of harassment in Stourport Road, Kidderminster, in the early hours of this morning.

At around 12.20am today Monday (July 11), two unknown men approached a 23-year-old man, from Stourport, while he was driving across the bridge over the railway, near to KFC.

A Redditch engineer has been jailed for eight years after a court heard he repeatedly abused two teenage girls.

Christopher Marklew, aged 69, of Danzey Close, admitted a total of nine allegations of indecent assault against his victims, who are now grown women.
