DETECTIVES are investigating the suspicious death a Cradley Heath double glazing worker, who was found dead at his Netherton home today.

The man, named locally as Simon Johnson, was pronounced dead at the  house in Cradley Road.

Police were called to the property by an ambulance crew already at the scene at about 9.40am.

Parts of Cradley Road and Bodmin Road have been closed while a forensic examination takes place.

A neighbour told the News the 41-year-old had lived there for around four years and worked for Cradley Heath-based Black Country Glazing.

"He was a nice guy, he always seemed cheerful," he added.

"I saw him yesterday morning and I'm sure I saw him in the evening. I can't believe it."

Detective Inspector Warren Hines, from the West Midlands Police’s homicide team, said: "I am keen to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area either yesterday or this morning."

Gemma Howell, office manager at the Station Street double glazing firm, said: "Black Country Glazing would like to pay tribute to one of our employees who has sadly passed away.

"Everyone here is devastated that we have lost one of our own who was not just an employee but a friend as well.

"All our staff and friends are paying tribute to our greatly missed friend and all our thoughts are with the family during this devastating time.”
