WE have made it to Friday and the heavens have opened.

The barbecue will be stood down and shades put away for a sunny day. If you are going to the V Festival this weekend, take a brolly and of course expect traffic jams around Stafford.

But how will your journey home be tonight, will the dinner be piping hot or in the dog by the time you get home.

Trains are running smoothly in the area as is the Metro.

However, if you are using the motorway network then there are the usual problems.

A breakdown on M6 northbound has been removed between J6 Birmingham and J7 Great Barr but traffic remains slow and there are delays of 30 minutes.

An accident on M6 northbound remains blocking one lane at J10a M54 with delays from J8 M5.

There was also a breakdown on the M42 southbound blocking one lane between J6 Birmingham Airport and J5 Solihull.

There are also delays in Coseley on A4123 Birmingham New Road heading towards Wolverhampton through roadworks at A463 Shaw Road.

If you are planning a trip to Birmingham tonight beware of traffic snarl ups on the Aston Expressway and in Bearwood.
