BLACK Country Housing Group is opening the doors of its brand new, purpose built residential care home in Halesowen for the first time this weekend.

On Sunday an open day at Gower Gardens, Kent Road, will give people an opportunity to look around the new home, meet the manager, staff team and request an assessment.

Gower Gardens is the first time that the organisation has constructed a purpose built care facility, which it has done in partnership with care home developer LNT Care Developments.

The state-of-the-art, dementia friendly property was specifically designed to meet the needs of older people with care and support requirements, in a safe and welcoming environment.

BCHG chief executive Amanda Tomlinson said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming visitors to our first open day at this new home. Gower Gardens will enable us to continue to provide high-quality care to older people in the local community.

"This modern and innovative new residential home, along with our experienced, qualified staff will offer the very best standards of care for people with a range of needs and promote personal choice and independence.”

The home will be staffed by a professional team of fully trained, dedicated carers creating over 50 new jobs.

Each of the 66 high-quality bedrooms is equipped with en-suite wet room facilities and includes a flat screen TV, refrigerator, telephone and full wi-fi service, along with an in house cinema, café and hairdressers.

The grounds incorporate landscaped sensory gardens with plenty of outdoor seating for residents and their guests to enjoy.

The open day will run from 10am until 3pm, include guided tours of the home and its grounds, and allow those interested to arrange for an assessment.
