THERE is still time for Dudley residents to book a place at next week’s annual community safety consultation event.

The event, organised by Safe & Sound, Dudley’s community safety partnership, takes place at Dudley Council House on Wednesday from 6.30pm to 9pm.

It will give residents the chance to meet with senior officers and decision-makers from the police, council, fire service and other organisations and discuss how the partnership tackles crime and disorder and substance misuse.

Through small workshops and a question time session, those who attend will be able to say what they think the big issues are and how they should be tackled over the next year and also talk about what has been done well and what can be improved.

Councillor Gaye Partridge, cabinet member for community safety, said: “This meeting is about giving voice to community concerns so we can really find out what issues people are facing.

“It also provides a real opportunity for residents to influence what happens in the borough.

“If you’re interested in how crime is tackled and want to speak directly to the borough’s decision makers it’s definitely worth attending.

“As a council we are committed to working with partners and with community organisations to make Dudley borough feel safer.”

To book a place, visit www.dudleysafeandsound.org or to find out more email community.safety@dudley.gov.uk or call 01384 814735.

People who can’t attend can still have their say by taking part in a short online survey at www.dudleysafeandsound.org and also by following the conversation on twitter using #DudleyHYS
