LOCAL history buffs are appealing for memorabilia to help Cradley’s historic Two Gates Ragged School celebrate its 150th anniversary next year.
The Cradley Then and Now group is launching the milestone celebrations by holding its 10th Cradley Day at the building in Two Gates on Saturday (October 1).
There will be displays and old pictures of bygone days, charity stalls and local crafts along with family history and local history books for sale.
Group member Jill Guest said they were hoping to help start to collect people’s memories of the ragged school, set up to provide education and worship for the community in 1867.
Cradley Day will be celebrated between 10.30am and 3pm and anyone with memorabilia is invited to take it along.
Admission is free and refreshments will be available.
