A ROWLEY Regis man who carried out a sex attack on a schoolgirl after watching pornography has been locked up for nearly five years.

Amarpreet Deo, who had been "aroused" by the video, also "took a chance" and sexually attacked a second girl under 13-years-of-age.

Judge Nicholas Cartwright told the 40 year old they were extremely serious offences because he had used some force on his first victim while the second girl was "deliberately isolated."

Deo, of York Road, had denied two charges of sexual assault on separate dates but he was found guilty by a jury at the end of his trial.

He was jailed for four years nine months by the judge who further told him he must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

The judge sitting at Wolverhampton Crown Court also made him the subject of an indeterminate Sexual Harm Prevention Order and told him he must stay away in future from his two victims.

Andrew McKiernan defending said Deo, a man with no sexual offences on his criminal record, had a "long deep-seated drink problem."

He maintained they were "isolated" incidents by married Deo who had accepted they were "unpleasant" episodes in his life.

Bernard Linnemann prosecuting said Deo had watched pornography before the attack on his first victim and it was clear alcohol had been an aggravating feature in the case.
