AN OLDBURY boxing promoter is spearheading a groundbreaking new weekly TV show about the fight game.

Marcus Anderson-Hitchen It's-a-Bout-Boxing program is being beamed into people's homes on Freeview channel Front Runner

Mr Anderson-Hitchen's grandfather was renowned Oldbury boxer, trainer and manager Lesley Anderson and uncle was Kenny Cooper who fought for England in the Commonwealth Games and celebrated locally for his victory over Ken Buchannan in the ABA championships.

The former Warley High School pupil also fought for Kyrle Hall Boxing Club following in the footsteps as his uncle Kenny and chairman of the British Boxing Board of Control Charlie Giles.

He said: "This is a dream come true for me, to be able to bring boxes to the masses every week is something I've always wanted to do.

"It's-a-Bout-Boxing TV is the UK only free to view weekly Boxing TV show and we currently have shows scheduled for the next 12 months."

Every Wednesday evening Mr Anderson-Hitchen is joined by Capital Radio's Becky Hayes for a magazine style show bringing the latest news reviews, previews and features of the boxing world with regular celebrity guests and music.

Miss Hayes said: "I am delighted to be presenting It's-a-Bout-Boxing TV as the sport is getting more popular than ever and we have found a fun format to help people stay in touch and informed with what is going on in the British and international boxing scene."

Mr Anderson-Hitchen said: "On Saturday nights we are broadcasting Fight Night Live from different venues across the country, we have a full crew, and are looking forward to guests from boxing world including Joe Egan, Ryan Rhodes, Peter Fury and lots more."

He added: "The response from the general public and those within the sport has been amazing.

"Our aim is to have our own sports channel within the next 18 months which will provide other sports with the opportunity to have their events televised."
