A BRIERLEY Hill man who died after being stabbed in the stomach in the town's high street at the weekend has been named as Mansoor Mahmood.

A murder inquiry was launched after the 24-year-old died in hospital shortly after he was found outside Dixi Chicken diner on Brierley Hill High Street on Saturday October 15.

Julia Brennan - a woman with 60 previous offences on her criminal record - also played a part in a £17,300 fraud on the same 71-year-old victim with her younger brother Timothy Hale.

A CROWN court judge delivered his sentence on ex-Shuttle reporter Tony Bishop after 65 years of reporting – ordering him to have a “long and happy retirement” at the age of 81.

Speaking to a packed courtroom of barristers, Crown Prosecution Service lawyers, ushers, clerks, security staff and probation officers, Judge Andrew Lockhart QC described Tony as “one of the most highly respected men ever to have trod the boards in courts of this land”.
