LOSING hair can be one of the most worst things to go through alongside cancer, but a Halesowen woman braved the shave to show her support.

Anna Green went from having a mousey brown bob to nothing but stubble when she walked into Salon 51, Stourbridge Road, on Tuesday (October 25).

In replace of her hair though, the 42-year-old raised more than £700 for Macmillan and showed how she stood proud next to her cancer-survivor mother and other friends who are going through a battle or lost their battles with the big C.

She said: "I did it to support anyone that has battled or is battling cancer and for those people who are cancer survivors. My mum is a cancer survivor and my best friend recently lost her mum and nan to cancer, my dad had a very good friend who lost his battle also and a friend who's dad still has a battle ahead. Without Macmillan these people and their families wouldn't get the much needed support."

Ms Green, who works in a special needs school in Halesbury and as a travel agent in Blackheath said both her employers had been supportive in her fundraising efforts in being one of 23,913 people who have braved the shave for Macmillan this year, raising more than £4,785,129 in total.
