THE Halesowen News backed A Fusion of Music and Dance charity concert is set to be a night to remember after an X-Factor star signed up to sing.

The concert, at Birmingham's Symphony Hall on May 7, will be graced by Tom Bleasby who is fresh from supporting international Jason Derulo on his sell out star.

Tom has won a LA Music Award and was a popular figure on the XFactor in 2015 before withdrawing due to personal reasons.

Halesowen businesswoman Leigh Perry, who organises the concert, which is raising money for the Birmingham Dogs Home and the MS Society, is delighted Tom has backed the concert.

She said: "This is really wonderful news that Tom Bleasby has agreed to join our line up of acts for the night, he will be singing Sam Smith's Writings on the Wall.

"This year's other guest artistes are BGT Finalists Richard and Adam and Beau Dermott, NMTA winners Soul Kinda Wonderful, The Town Hall Gospel Choir and DMS Patron and Birmingham rock legend Bev Bevan who will be performing and co-hosting."

Leigh, principal and trustee of the Dorridge Music School (DMS), brings together more than 300 performers, with her talented young pupils getting the chance to perform at the prestigious venue alongside stars, including the concert’s patron, legendary ELO drummer Bev Bevan.

In previous years, the event has banked up to £1,500 for charities including The Acorns Trust, RSPCA Birmingham and Marie Curie.

It also runs an awareness campaign for Delete Blood Cancer, urging members of the public to become donors, in memory of tragic DMS pupil Riya Dandekar, who died from the disease aged just 21.
