BOSSES at Dudley Zoological Gardens have taken the decision to close the attraction for the day as Storm Doris batters the country.
Zoo manager Matt Lewis said: “We’ve been closely monitoring the weather overnight and with high wind speeds expected over the next few hours we’ve taken the decision to remain closed today for animal and public safety."
He said the zoo's exotic animal collection would be kept in their internal dens and he added: "We’ll be keeping a close eye on the trees around the 40-acre ancient wooded site.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and aim to re-open as normal tomorrow."
People are advised to keep an eye on the zoo’s website and social media sites for any further updates.
