LOVING Halesowen couple Janet and Maurice Rudge have celebrated their diamond anniversary.
The pair, both aged 82, met in 1953 when Halesowen born Maurice ventured to Wolverhampton and met Janet where she worked as a bus conductress.
They were married in Halesowen Parish Church and were familiar figures around the town as they brought up their three children Barry, Helen and Brian.
Maurice, who worked for West Midlands Ambulance Service for 34 years, and Janet now have five grandchildren.
Their daughter Helen Perry said: "My parents are also excited to be awaiting the arrival of two great grandchildren in the summer.
"They celebrated their diamond anniversary with a family meal and then a party for 70 guests including family and friends."
