SOCIAL workers and care professionals are being urged to join Dudley Council as the authority pays tribute to their “brilliant contribution” in looking after vulnerable children and adults.
The council marked World Social Work Day this week by thanking its existing care workforce on social media, but it has also urged those looking for work to look at a number of existing vacancies being advertised within both children and adult’s social care.
Councillor Ian Cooper, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “We are pleased to have been recently described as being focussed, ambitious and creative by government social care commissioner Eleanor Brazil and we are well on our way with our improvement journey in Dudley.
“We want to sing the benefits of our comprehensive learning and development programme that we offer for all social workers and we guarantee that our employees will be supported every step of the way.
“World Social Work Day provides us with a fantastic opportunity to thank social workers for their brilliant contribution to looking after others, and also to showcase our job vacancies in social care and hopefully reach many potential candidates.
“We look forward to hearing from anyone who is interested in a role with us and discussing what we can offer you.”
