THE following appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court between March 17 and 23:

Cathy Taylor, aged 46, of Cockshed Lane, Halesowen, was fined £80 for assaulting a police officer in Oldbury on January 16. She must pay compensation of £30, a victim surcharge of £30 and £135 court costs.

Simone Emma Charles, aged 29, of Gospel End Street, Sedgley, was given a six month community order for stealing leggings, worth £25, from JD Sports, Wolverhampton, on February 14. She was also sentenced for possessing a foil lined bag and a pair of pliers, for use in the course of, or in connection with, theft. She was given a 28 day curfew and for the duration must remain at her home address between 7pm and 7am. She must pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £185 court costs.

Layla Marie Gould, aged 32, of High Street, Quarry Bank, was sent to prison for 12 weeks, suspended for 20 months, for stealing goods worth £95.27, from Tesco, Cradley Heath, on October 19, 2016. She must pay a victim surcharge of £115 and £250 court costs.

Jason Barry Smallwood, aged 40, of Highfield Lane, Halesowen, was discharged conditionally for 12 months for stealing meat, worth £12.34, from Aldi, Halesowen, on March 4. He must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £60 court costs.

Gavin Robert Clarke, aged 34, of Green Park Road, Dudley, was given a 12 month community order for stealing electrical items, worth £64, from Asda, Great Bridge, on November 30, 2016. He must carry out 50 hours unpaid work and pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £135 court costs.

David Wesley Flavell, aged 34, of South Oval Road, Upper Gornal, was sent to prison for 18 weeks for stealing chocolate bars, worth £39.24, from B&M Bargains, Dudley, and assaulting a man on February 16. He was also sentenced for failing to surrender to custody at Dudley Magistrates Court on March 20, having been released on bail. He must pay compensation of £50 and £115 victim surcharge.

Jagmohan Singh, aged 36, of Bristnall Hall Road, Oldbury, was sent to prison for 42 days for stealing a bottle of Jack Daniels, worth £25, from Asda, Great Bridge, on March 22. He must pay a victim surcharge of £115.

Michael David Kent, aged 35, of Bournbrook Crescent, Halesowen, was given a 12 month community order for assaulting two police officers in Dudley on February 5. He was given a six week curfew and for the duration must remain at his home address between 6pm and 6am. He must pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £100 compensation.

William James Evitts, aged 33, of Blackberry Lane, Rowley Regis, was given a 12 month community order for possessing diamorphine in Netherton on December 2, 2016 and driving while disqualified and without insurance. He must carry out 150 hours unpaid work and pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £620 court costs.

Aiden John Heffernan, aged 22, of George Road, Sedgley, was given a 12 month community order for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a person to believe that violence would be used, in Oldbury on January 30. He was also sentenced for possessing a kitchen knife and multi-tool in West Bromwich. He must carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £300 court costs.

Lloyd Robert Smith, aged 31, of Highgate Road, Dudley, was given a six month community order for stealing items, worth £433.32, from shops in Dudley and Brierley Hill, between February 13 and March 22. He was given a six week community order and for the duration must remain at his home address between 7pm and 7am. He must pay compensation of £160, a victim surcharge of £85 and £185 court costs.

Arnis Cica, aged 22, of Churchfield Street, Dudley, was sent to prison for 98 days for driving while disqualified and without insurance, in Dudley on March 23, while subject to a suspended sentence. He was disqualified from driving for three years and must pay a victim surcharge of £115.

Stuart Mallen, aged 47, of Wells Road, Brierley Hill, was given a 12 month community order for assaulting two people in Brierley Hill on December 16, 2016. He must carry out 40 hours unpaid work and pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £300 court costs.
