HALESOWEN and Rowley Regis MP James Morris has praised the Prime Minister Theresa May MP for triggering Article 50.

Mr Morris, who was in the remain camp during last year's historic referendum, hopes the West Midlands gets a good deal out of Brexit.

He said: "I am pleased that the Prime Minister has fulfilled her pledge to trigger Article 50 by the end of March and we are now in the formal stage of our exit.

"This marks a significant moment in our country's history, and I want to make sure that the next two years of negotiations focus on opportunities for jobs and trade here in the Black Country and wider West Midlands."

He added: "I have been clear since the referendum that the people of the West Midland's delivered Brexit, and so we must be at the forefront of the Government's priorities when setting our new future outside of the EU.

"The Government has launched planforbritain.gov.uk which sets out our 12 negotiating objectives as we build a deep and special partnership with the European Union once we leave."
