TWO women had to be taken to hospital this morning (Friday, May 26) after a crash on the M5 near Oldbury.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, near junction 2, at about 8.23am after a car and lorry collided, blocking two of the southbound lanes.
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, treating two patients for minor injuries, before taking them to Sandwell General Hospital.
An ambulance service spokesman said: “A woman in her 30s, the driver of the car, suffered non-serious injuries to her back and neck. She was mobilised and taken to Sandwell.
“A woman in her 40s, the passenger of the car, was also taken to Sandwell in the same ambulance with minor injuries.”
It is currently unknown whether the driver of the lorry required treatment.
Both lanes which were blocked are now open once again.
