STAFF at a Cradley museum are getting set for a summer of fun activities starting with a Victorian community event and family day.

Haden Hill House Museum will host the event on Sunday, June 25 that will have a Victorian steampunk twist.

Jane Hanney, Sandwell Council's museum services manager, said: "There will be live music out in the park with favourites Eureka Jazz playing classics visitors will love, so why not bring a picnic and enjoy the music and hopefully the summer sunshine.

"There will also be children's entertainment with magic shows and balloons, craft activities and trails for our younger visitors to enjoy.”

Visitors will also be able to look out for a Steampunk penny farthing and its rider, enjoy side shows and games and play croquet on the lawn. There will also be a small steampunk exhibition inside the house.

Staff are also setting up a photo area where people can get dressed up and take their own photos of themselves as Victorians.

Entrance to the event, which runs from 12noon-4pm, is free with a small charge for some activities.
